"Jet Set Baby" by Leisure McCorkle for $2.64 on AmieStreet.com

Download: "Jet Set Baby" by Leisure McCorkle for $2.64 on AmieStreet.com

Leisure McCorkle is an old friend from Charlotte N.C. He was always in cool bands growing up and music was a huge part of his life. I reconnected with Leisure McCorkle on Facebook recently and found out that he is still going strong with his musical career. He has a new album coming out soon but I encourage you to check him out now on the album "Jet Set Baby."
A dedicated follower of the American underground music scene, singer/songwriter Leisure McCorkle brings a healthy knowledge of the classic alternative scene to his brand of energetic hard rock. Starting in the mid-90's, he recorded the lo fi Nappy Superstar on an 8-track in 1997. Put together with very little money, the recording still commanded a good response from music critics and helped his live shows develop some longtime fans. Following with American Ghetto Pop Machine, McCorkle expanded on his work with better writing and better production, even scoring a licensing deal with MTV that resulted in several songs being included in their reality shows. By 2002, Jet Set Baby became the hardest rocking album in his canon as he continued to explore the boundaries of poppy alternative rock with a full backing band.

It may surprise you to learn that there are other sites on the web that allow you to purchase and download MP3s besides giants like iTunes and AmazonMP3. Today I would like to take a few minutes to talk about a great music site called AmieStreet.com. Amie Street has a unique business model for selling music. Artists can upload music to the site, which can then be downloaded for free by users. As tracks become popular, Amie Street starts to charge for it and the band get's a cut of the profit. So if you are like me and you enjoy discovering new music, AmieStreet.com is a great way to download some good music for very little money. Don't get me wrong Amie Street also has some popular mainstream artist that like the site as well. You can pick up Vampire Weekend's self-titled album for $9.98 which I believe is the most you will pay for a full album on Amie Street. All downloads are in DRM-FREE MP3 format so they will work with any digital audio player like the iPod or Zune.

How to Install the Amazon MP3 Downloader.

Download Link: Amazon MP3 Downloader

I talk a lot about the AmazonMP3 music store on this site.  The main reason for that is because AmazonMP3 offers a comparable music library to iTunes and their prices are less expensive.  Also, everything Amazon sells in their store is DRM-FREE.  Which means there are no restrictions as to where, how, who plays the music you purchase.  This is the way online music buying should be.  Imagine if you will the old says of CDs if you had to go to a Sony store to buy a special CD that only worked in a special Sony CD player?  Think about it.

Don't get me wrong, I still use iTunes to manage my music and feed my iPod and iPhone.  I just don't buy my music from iTunes,  for reasons I have already stated above..  I typically buy my music online from AmazonMP3, eMuisc.com, or I rip my own CDs to iTunes.   Now, a key part in making AmazonMP3 and iTunes work is the Amazon MP3 Downloader.  Amazon provides a little software application for free that will download your MP3 purchase and import it into iTunes automatically. Once you install this application buying from AmazonMP3is as easy as it is to do from iTunes itself.  So I encourage you to hit the link above or below to get started on the install.  Amazon will even give you a free song to show you how easy it is.

So the "How to..." of this article is very easy.  Just use the link I have provided and it will take you to the install page.  Once you select your operating system it will take you to the specific download page.  Should only take a few seconds and you will be ready to go.  Enjoy!
